The Coral Sea is a dark sea near Azshara. It is located near the edge of what was once Zin-Azshari, which is now below this sea, at least partially, along with the former site of the Well of Eternity. It touches jagged hills and great cliffs. The Nightmare Lord's physical form was near here, though Malfurion and Tyrande both pointed out that it should not have been as he had been turned into a tree near Suramar.[1] Since this sea is found in between the continents, it is a part of the Great Sea.

The Coral Sea is a sea near Azshara. This shallow sea is home to an abundance of fish and underwater plants that illuminate the brilliant waters, creating an eerily beautiful contrast to the storm clouds that often loom over the area. The labyrinthine coral reef that gives the sea its name makes boating impossible; however, the reef has vast stretches that lie close to the surface, and even some portions that lie exposed. Only the brave (or foolhardy) would attempt travel along the coral, especially since murlocs and naga are known to attack those who venture away from the shore. Some night elves suggest that not all demons were banished during the War of the Ancients, lurking even now beneath the glittering waters of the Coral Sea and awaiting the time to strike back.[2]
