Colonel Kurzen is a level 40 elite human found in The Stockpile in Kurzen's Compound in Stranglethorn Vale. He and his men are currently at war with the soldiers at the Rebel Camp.Kurzen is actually being controlled by the Ogre mage Mai'Zoth. Lieutenant Doren wants Kurzen's head.

Notes

Colonel Kurzen is a reference to Apocalypse Now. Kurzen, who has gone insane and raised an army to fight for him from a small, hidden compound, parallels Colonel Kurtz, played by Marlon Brando. The two Colonels' backstories are very similar. It is, by extension, a reference to Kurtz from Heart of Darkness, the novel whose story Apocalypse Now parallels in many ways in a modern context, but is a very seperate work.
