Red Rider Air Rifle can be found inside the [Winter Veil Gift] during Winter Veil 2009. As of 5 January 2011, it is now available for purchase from Jepetto Joybuzz in Dalaran.

Using the rifle on the opposing faction's leadership is the requirement of the achievement  BB King (Alliance) /  (Horde)

Notes

• The rifle has a short cast time and like many other ranged weapons, there is a minimum range of 5 yards. The maximum range is 25 yards.
• The rifle does not always hit the target, which is required by the achievement. Missing, however, will still aggro the target by startling it. Hit rating does not appear to be factor.
• The rifle will sometimes backfire [Right in the eye!] This will stun the player for five seconds and, like everything else with the rifle, is an obvious reference to A Christmas Story.
• In past years the main gift of the year had been permanent items, but due to this only having 200 charges and has a world event achievement attached to it, but it was not given out under the tree in 2010. It is now available for purchase from Jepetto Joybuzz in Dalaran after a hotfix.
