Booming Voice
Spell nature purge
  • Booming Voice (5 ranks)
  • Increases the area of effect and duration of your Battle Shout, Demoralizing Shout and Commanding Shout by X%.
Requirements
Class Warrior
Talent required None
Properties
Affects Ability warrior battleshout [Battle Shout], Ability warrior warcry [Demoralizing Shout], Ability warrior rallyingcry [Commanding Shout]
The battlefield is a hectic place, filled with sonic pandemonium; screams, roars, explosions and the constant din of metal on metal, and metal on flesh and bone. The mark of a true commander then, is one that can make their presence known through the din, and relay orders effectively and clearly amid the chaos, and by doing so, inspire courage in their troops, and fear in their enemies...

Functionality

Booming Voice increases the area of effect and duration of your Battle Shout and Demoralizing Shout.

It is a passive Fury talent, and improves Ability warrior battleshout [Battle Shout], Ability warrior warcry [Demoralizing Shout] and Ability warrior rallyingcry [Commanding Shout] automatically when they are used.

Notes

A fully amplified (5/5) Ability warrior battleshout [Battle Shout] will last 3 mins instead of 2 mins, and reach 30 yards instead of 20 yards. Ability warrior warcry [Demoralizing Shout] goes from 30s to 45s and 10 yards to 15 yards.

It is questionable whether these improvements are really worth five talent points, particularly compared against Spell nature focusedmind [Cruelty] as a route further into the Fury tree. Much simpler to just refresh the shouts sooner - the rage cost of each Shout is comparatively small compared to the total rage gained during a normal melee encounter. The useful improvements - the Attack Power increase/decrease are modified by other talents further down the tree anyway.

The increased range on the Demoralizing shout can actually be hazardous in tightly populated Instances, causing the Warrior to aggro extra enemies unintentionally. Better to keep the shouts as tight and focused as possible.

Probably one to avoid - take Spell nature focusedmind [Cruelty] instead.

From a PvP Point of view though, Booming Voice is a viable option to replace Ability warrior warcry [Improved Demoralizing Shout] in a 43/15/3 or 37/21/3 Ability warrior savageblow [Mortal Strike]-Build, for it gives the Warrior a higher range to reveal rogues, especially useful in crowded fights attacking/defending a flag or a flag carrier.
