Inv sword 50

Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood is an epic two hand sword.

Ashkandi

A paladin shown wielding Ashkandi.

Source

Ashkandi drops off Nefarian in Blackwing Lair, at about a 7% rate.

Notes

  • Jokingly referred to as "Asscandy" by some players, due to the way its name is pronounced.
  • As of patch 1.11, this is the third highest DPS sword in the game along with [Claymore of Unholy Might], being beaten slightly by [Kalimdor's Revenge], a drop from the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, and [Corrupted Ashbringer]. The high stamina bonus makes this an ideal weapon for warriors and paladins.
  • There are many arguments over which sword, [Kalimdor's Revenge], or this, is better for dps warriors; the fact is, this sword is best suited to a MS specced warrior due to the high top end damage, whereas Kalimdor's Revenge is the best Fury sword, and thus in the hands of the right spec either sword can deliver the best PvE damage when fully utilized.

Lore

This weapon is the legendary sword of Anduin Lothar, the late Regent Lord of Azeroth and Champion of King Llane. He was killed by Orgrim Doomhammer during the closing battles in the Second War. His sword is now found in the possession of Nefarian in Blackwing Lair, presumably due to his father Neltharion's involvement in the ending of the Second War.
