Alcaz Island

Alcaz Island is a large, semi-accessible island off the northeast coast of Dustwallow Marsh and Theramore Isle that once contained the prison of the missing king of Stormwind, Varian Wrynn. It's only a short swim from Dustwallow Marsh, but there are a lot of level 60-62 elites on the island, and swimming in the ocean around it. So it's dangerous if you can't stealth or deal with the enemies.

King Varian Wrynn of Stomwind was removed from Alcaz Island in 1.9.0 in preparation for the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj event, which saw players fighting a new batch of enemies under the control of Dr. Weavil on Alcaz. It is unknown where the king was moved to at this time, or if he still exists in the game at all. He had been in the sewers of Alcaz since closed beta.

In Patch 1.10, Dr. Weavil's forces (having served their purpose) were replaced with elite monsters, and Varian Wrynn's former location became the home to an elite level 62 monster named Tidelord Rrurgaz. However, there is a prison cell next to the Tidelord, leading many to believe that there one day the king will be back in there. Another possibilty is that the king used the tumult caused by Dr. Weavil to flee from Alcaz Island although this is mere speculation.
